Strikers Netball has a long history of creating opportunities for country netballers to play at a higher level. Strikers was one of the early pioneers, paving the way for regional players to be exposed to a stronger, higher level of netball. It provided an option for regional netballers to be showcased to selectors for consideration for high-performance netball.
Beginning around 1998, Strikers played netball predominantly at Royal Park in Parkville Melbourne. Strikers had great success, as finalists and premiers in both Division 1 and Division 2 sections.
Many well-known local netball identities have represented Strikers over the years including Caitlin Thwaites and Rebecca Bulley just to name a few. Some of our regional athletes went on to play or coach within the Netball Victoria pathway, with some going on to represent their country at the highest level.
Embracing the history and adopting the culture of those who have led the way with pride and passion, Bendigo Strikers aims to reunite past players and continue a strong regional presence in the Netball Victoria Pathway.
